Laying the Cornerstone

Welcome to your new getshitdone family.

Hi, Nooa here.

It’s so exciting to be in your inbox right now.

I want to start this newsletter by telling you how getshitdone came to be. I was in Ireland in the beginning of June, and I decided to call Gopi. Somehow, our quick catching up call turned into a fully-blown 1 ½ hour brainstorming session.

I realised that I’m doing so many things, and that they are all quite scattered. Running my agency, wanting to post Notion content on YouTube, our Startup Hoom, running operations for Innowave - all these things seemed like separate paths that I was trying to walk all at the same time.

There was no clear direction, no clear path for me. Gopi has the amazing habit of making me question everything, and on that call, we questioned why my content on Linkedin was not performing as well as I would have wanted to.

I’m paraphrasing here, but Gopi said something like “Bro, your best-performing posts are the ones where you talk about your own experience, about being a student and managing businesses.“

I discussed getshitdone with these cows too, they seemed excited about it

Then, it clicked in my head. I found out the common thread to connect all of this mess. To stop walking all paths and instead have one clear direction. That was the moment getshitdone was born.

We started ideating about how we could create a community, connecting all the things I am doing. Creating content for the community, writing posts, being productive together; essentially using all the skills I have learned in these different projects and combining them into an ecosystem that will help you, dear reader, learn from our past mistakes and experiences.

I want to dedicate this newsletter to my younger self, the Nooa who was so full of motivation and wanted to be successful and run a business and start making money and providing value, on his own terms.

You are now part of a community, a community of young people who refuse to settle for mediocracy, a tribe that will have each other’s backs. This newsletter is just the seed that will start it all, the spark that will ignite the bonfire. We are building a village, and you are the first inhabitants.

Welcome to getshitdone, talk to you soon.

P.S. we will be posting bi-weekly, every Monday and Friday.
