Why Everyone and Their Mom is Building a Personal Brand

I decided to build a personal brand.

It’s something that’s been on my mind for a while already, but I just didn’t really see the benefit until now.

As you probably know from my previous newsletters, I was struggling to find new clients during summer.

Cold calling failed me.

But still, I was reluctant to start a personal brand.

It felt like everyone and their mom was out there building a personal brand.

I had nothing out of the ordinary to offer.

But that’s when I had a conversation with a friend of mine.

And things started clicking.

The value that you bring with a personal brand is in the name: it’s personal.

It’s you, and that’s what makes your brand unique.

And I’ve experienced first-hand what a “personal brand” can do for you. I was walking around campus last year and some random guy came up to me and just said “yooo, Notion!”. I had never even talked to the guy before.

But he must have seen my posts on Linkedin.

That’s the power of a personal brand.

It makes people recognize you.

It grants you authority.

It’s going to attract the right people to you, so that you can finally stop chasing down the people you want to reach.

And that’s what I plan on doing. Posting consistently, sharing my story, and inspiring others.
